PKUC Karratha office held a Nursing information evening to highlight pathways into Nursing through our University partner CQU, leading to a Bachelor of Nursing online program.
We had a number of local experts present on the night about their experiences in the industry.
A big thanks to our speakers on the night:
Katrina Seng from WACHS
Sian Avard, a Child Health and Community Nurse
Natalie Grey, a Lactation Consultant at Milk and Kindness
Sam Watadza, Director of Embrace Health Solutions
Laura Bascome, current CQU Student and St Johns Volunteer
PKUC staff also gave an overview of what was involved in studying Nursing remotely, and the practical placements that students need to undertake.
PKUC is fortunate enough to use the state-of-the-art facility at South Hedland's Pundulmurra NR Tafe to run our practical placements with our very own PKUC Clinical Supervisor Amy Pedersen.
Attendees went away filled with a wealth of knowledge to hopefully guide them into these much-needed and incredibly important job roles in our community.
